A NORDIC FORUM WITH A VISION OF A GREEN DAVOS
Katarina Levin is the CEO of Setra Group, a wood-producing company that has also entered new business areas such as pyrolysis oil, which is currently in the start-up phase together with the fuel company Preem. Setra Group is one of the companies and organizations that start up the Nordic Green Business Forum.
Nordic Green Business forum is a Nordic forum with the vision to one day become a Green Davos. A place to discuss business, innovative ideas, build networks and meet people who also see the same opportunity for society and welfare.
– Sweden and Norway in particular have always had a very large flow of both goods and people across the border and Norway is so much more than just a neighboring country for us. Therefore, it has felt good that we have had this collaborative project with the Norwegians to begin with. continues Katarina.
Perfect timing for sustainable issues
The fact that the pandemic struck just in the planning of the forum naturally had some consequences, but Katarina believes that something good may have come out of it anyway because there has been time to perhaps put an extra thought into sustainability.
She also sees that the combination of a need to talk more about green industries and a higher demand for forums where these issues can be discussed, are influencing factors that have driven the initiative.
– There is a lot of talk about green industries and we need to do it more. If there is one thing we are in a hurry about, it is to get sustainable businesses based on renewable raw materials because it is the only fossil-free ((method)) we have, such that is produced with sunlight. It is important that we become good at using these opportunities in a good way.
The importance of the "eye to eye" meeting
After a number of moves of the forum, Katarina hopes that it can finally get rid of because the fact of being able to meet is of great importance and that it would not have been the same type of meetings and discussion if they had chosen to run digitally.
